My name is Judith Marciante, and I’m an obsessive and compulsive knitter. Yes, that is my confession.

I’ve been knitting since I was quite young, and I come from a long line of knitters and crocheters. My ancestors’ roots go back to the British Isles and Scandanavia, and I like to believe that I channel that heritage through my own love of knitting. As much as I love to knit, I love to teach and inspire others. To me, knitting is love, and I want to share it.

I have spent my professional career in the tech world, designing and coding websites, all the while knitting to keep myself grounded. For the last several years, I have also worked and taught lessons at my local yarn shop in Petaluma, California. It recently closed, and while feeling adrift and at loose ends because of that, I’ve decided to try to do what I can to continue the sense of community and camaraderie that I loved at the shop.

I will be writing a blog to share tips and tricks that I give my students for making their projects go more smoothly, and also share what I’m working on or excited about at the moment. I will also share nuggets I find out there on the internet by providing links to insightful podcasts, tutorials and great products.

I teach private lessons and small classes in my knitting studio, the Woolshed, and I teach larger group classes at various venues around Petaluma. So, fill out the mailing list form and let me know what your interests are, and please contact me if you are interested in making arrangements for private lessons, and see my class page for scheduled classes.
